The NYT Metro section (full article) shares the story of a musical “collective” (a hipster commune) in the Ditmars Park section of Brooklyn. Eight roommates (all musicians) trying to do the modern day Big Pink thing.

By modern day, I mean they have a backing media company called BKLYN1834 (website) that is investing in making this creative “think” tank produce marketable ideas and projects.
The BRLYN 1834 is one of the most fun and professional looking bunch of creative odd balls this side of San Francisco.
I am rooting for them!
It’s not my (our) type of music, but they are storming SXSW this year in Austin.
FYW.
