It is with a heavy heart one of the most influential guitar men is now appearing only at that great gig in the sky.

JJ Cale’s “One Step Ahead of The Blues” — which plays a central role on Scrapple’s Soundtrack –is my favorite among the many great songs penned by Mr. Cale.

Much has been written about his unprecedented influence on many rock and roll heavies.

The JJ Cale website is the best place to start culling through his life and music when (not if) you have the time for 20 min “JJ Cale Window”.

RIP :: John Weldon Cale
December 5, 1938 – July 26, 2013

It ain’t easy to stay one step ahead of the blues.
