Bowlive :: March 14, 2015 (matinee show)

If you have kids or nephews and nieces, take them to see Soulive‘s annual matinee show at The Brooklyn Bowl.  The show starts at two o’clock and lasts 75 minutes.  Plenty of music, and plenty of scene for even the coolest 10 year old kid.

The Brooklyn Bowl (owned by Capitol Theatre maestro Peter Shapiro) is one of the best music venues in the NYC area.  It’s also a terrific place to bring the kids to on a rainy weekend afternoon.

What’s more, this cold, grey and wet Saturday afternoon happened to be my birthday.

Introducing my kids (and a bunch of neighbors/friends plus their kids) to not only The Brooklyn Bowl, but also Soulive, for the first time gave me tremendous joy.  They all loved it and smiled often.

The bowling lanes are worth the cost…don’t look at the price….it doesn’t matter.

It was very uplifting to see so many music-minded people (young and old) gather round the stage.  One of my show-mates kindly pointed out that this is the first time more people were throwing up milk as opposed to beer…. (see March 17 show story for that).

I was able to take lots of great photos below… notice the shot of stage (Kraso on guitar and the sax player) with the child sitting on her dad’s shoulders….
