In early 2015 I wrote a story about one of the Hudson Valley’s best independent music venues, The Falcon (click here for that story). That night The The Band Band (a talented local The Band cover band) was playing and I was lucky enough to get the full tour of the lower level museum that featured all the music I loved so much. Lots of Jorma and Rick Danko stuff!!

I was deeply saddened to learn Tony passed away not long ago after battling COVID. (Click here for more on Tony in the local paper.) He was an incredibly important figure in the Hudson Valley music scene for decades and will always be remembered by the many who played on his stage and boogied in his dance hall.

Tony and I had something uniquely in common… we were both music fanatics AND environmental lab owners. Tony’s laboratory (Environmental Labworks) occupied the lower level of his building and provides great drinking water services to that community. Our labs help each other every day.

Tony Falco’s The Falcon was a place that made everyone smile and relax.

(Father’s Day 2019)

There are many good times to talk about, but my favorite Falcon memory was dancing with my daughter’s at Tony’s Father’s Day jazz brunch party in 2019. My kids were happy to see me so happy there and had a ball.  Tony being Tony, picked up the bill and introduced me to his family that was hanging and hooting it up as well. After lunch we took a bunch of fun photos outside on the club’s deck (see above).

Rest in peace friend.  Your kindness and passion for the music will never be forgotten. We will all pass it forward.

Keep flappin’…
