One of my many parallel music projects is the holiday ale I produce for my “day job” (York Analytical) … each year we brew a beer at Lithology Brewing Co. in Long Island (website) and theme it after a band and a song. We produce and distribute 500 bottles for clients and friends, and pull together a music video to announce our gift.  People love it, and so do I. 

This year’s beer is called “Crazy Chester’s Holiday Ale” and named after one of the many cooky characters in The Band’s seminal song “the Weight”. Click here to watch and hear this music video.  Warning, you will smile wide and end up singing along.

As you may have noticed, music plays an important part of most everything I do… including my job. 

This is our sixth annual holiday beer. Last year we themed our beer after Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”. The beer was great, but the song was hard to sing and a bit low key for the holidays. (Click here to watch that).

In 2020 our Blue Sky Ale was themed after the Allman Brothers Band classic tune and was a ball! (click here for that.)

I am not sure what next year will bring… maybe Neil Young or Widespread Panic!
