I splurged on Valentine’s Day this year and took my gal to the Jean Georges swanky Inn at Pound Ridge. Sitting to my right was Mr. Pittsburgh Steelers… Bill Cohwer and his gal. Sitting to my left was Chevy Chase and family.

Seeing Chevy Chase reminded me of a story I heard recently about the band he played with during his college days at Bard College.

Chevy was the drummer for Leather Canary. After Chevy quit the band to pursue a career in comedy, his roommates Walter and Donald continued on with their passion for music and formed Steely Dan.

Fucking cool, right.

What is even more interesting is that the band Steely Dan was named after a steam-powered strap-on dildo worn by main character in William Burroughs “Naked Lunch”.
